Strategic reading activitiy for the month: Visualization
A successful reader creates a picture in their mind as they read. Imagine this: the young boy , possibly six years old, was last seen floating down a dark, cold river. What images were you seeing in your imagination? This is called visualization, visualizing in your mind what you think the author is describing in the story. The reader creates pictures in their mind which helps to remember what events are occurring in the story. This strategy will help comprehension and recollection of events in the reading.
