A Short Bio
Teaching is a major part of my life and I truly cherish every moment at school. There is no better feeling in the world then helping a child to learn and to grow. Education is something I've always been passionate about. You never stop learning no matter how old you are!
I attended the State University of New York (SUNY) at Cortland where I received my bachelors and masters degrees in teaching. "Find something you love to do, and you'll never work a day in your life" -Harvey MacKay. I couldn't agree more with that quote as I absolutely adore what I do. I've been teaching for six years now and look forward to many more successful school years!
To learn a little bit more about me outside of school, in my spare time (when I'm not grading papers and home work assignments!) I enjoy outdoor activities. I find spending time outdoors to be soothing and relaxing. Some of my favorite hobbies include skiing, hiking and running.
I try to live as healthy a lifestyle as I can, which means plenty of exercise and eathing right. I've recently gotten into gardening and in the summer months I grow a lot of my own produce and enjoy shopping at farm stands.
I have been married for five years to my wonderful and supportive husband, Justin. He and I share a love for exercise, sports and the outdoors.
I also love animals, dogs espcecially, and spend a great deal of time outdoors with my chocolate lab, Bear. My husband and I also enjoy volunteering at our local animal shelter where we spend time exercising and playing with the dogs. When time permits we also lend a hand by fostering dogs that come into the shelter. This means we provide a temporary home for dogs brought to a shelter. We provide basic care and training while teaching the dogs how to live in a home and preparing them for adoption.
I love participating in and finding other ways in which to give back to the community. I believe there is no better education than learning to help others
