TUESDAY, June 12 -

  • Type MEMO24B1 from page 64.  DO NOT change the font. The directions in the purple margin tell you to use italics instead of underlining but go ahead and use underlining. Follow the memo formatting from the blue handout. Print out and turn in.

  • Type the "Oh, Henry" handout. Print out and turn in.
  • Complete the Memo Study Guide. Keep it at your desk to go over later.

  • Letter parts handout - cut pieces apart, remove and set aside the cards labeled "Subject line" and "letterhead". Arrange in correct order without looking at your PB handout.
  • Begin Ltr29B1, Ltr29B2. Wait for the lesson 28 letters to be returned to edit and print these.

FRIDAY, June 15 -

  • Type LTR-B-EXAMPLE - Learn letterheads as a group, then type the remaining document on your own. Print. Turn in for a grade.
  • BREAK
  • Create your own letterhead in a header.  Include your name, address, phone number, and school email address. (Your school email address is your username@fpsk12.org). Add one graphic that represents you and/or your personality. Create borders, font color, size and style as you choose as long as they're readable. Print in color (HP 3800) and turn in. Save as LETTERHEAD.
  • Then, on page 163, LTR56C2 type a letter to Ms. Shepard with the subject line of GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY. Use your letterhead and include the business letter information in it.  Save As LTR56C2. PRINT IN BLACK/WHITE - 4100 printer.
  • Then, on page 164, LTR57B1, type a letter to Mr. Cooper at the top of the page. Use your letterhead and include the letter information in it.  Read the directions on the purple left margin for the date, letter address, who it's from, and her title. An appropriate salutation includes "Mr., Mrs. or Ms." and the person's last name.  A complimentary close can be "Sincerely, Sincerely yours, Cordially, or Cordially yours".  Note that the second word in a closing is not capitalized. Include a copy notation as indicated in the purple information on the side.
