Homework

Homework is a great way to practice the skills learned in class. Please check your child's homework for accuracy and completeness.

Math Homework: Math HW will usually go home Monday-Thursday. The students need to practice nightly to reinforce what is being learned in class.

Spelling Homework: The spelling words will be on your child's homework sheet weekly. These words can be practiced on your own at home. No assignments need to be turned in. Below are some activities to practice spelling at home.

Spelling Activity Examples: Put your words in a wordsearch, write them 3 times each, use the words in a story, hide the words in a picture, write them in ABC order, write them as a pyramid (see pyramid example below), write them in rainbow colors, spell out your words using stamps, flashcards...

Pyramid Example: w...wh...whe...wher....where - stacked like a pyramid

Reading Homework:  Soon, a reading comprehension passage will be coming home once a week. At times there will be a written response as well.

It is extremely important to read with your child 20 minutes a night!
