Grading Policy
Student grades will be taken from Math classwork, quizzes, homework and tests.  After classroom instruction, any formative assessment grade counts 40% (classwork, quizzes and homework, etc). All summative assessment grades count 60% (unit tests). Any Project Base Learning Projects will have a combination of both – 40% grades will be taken during the projects duration and an 60% grade will be given for the completion of the final project.

Procedure for Parent Access to Instructional Materials
Tennessee law (Public Chapter 660) requires that parents or guardians be allowed to view instructional materials being used with their children.  Maury County Schools parents or guardians who wish to view materials should submit a request in writing to the teacher.  In addition, parents should seek clarification from the teacher about any assignment or instructional material about which they have concerns.  Unresolved concerns may then be brought to the attention of the school administration.

*The Holt McDougal Mathematics textbooks are used in the classroom during regular school hours.  However, textbooks are available for students to check-out from the teacher to take home with a written request from a parent.  The syllabus is subject to change with proper notification.
