After more than fifteen years of teaching literature and writing classes to homeschool students, it remains my passion to help them grow not only in understanding the written word, but also in their capacity for thinking and analyzing. It is quite encouraging to witness young men and women come to a realization of God’s gift of imagination and communication!

About The Coggins:

My husband, Lee, and I homeschooled for 13 years, graduating all 3 of our children and sending them off to successful undergraduate and masters' degrees.

Co-founding Lake Michigan Home School Connection in 1999, I worked on their board for 10 years. I was also very active in the Muskegon Co-op, helped start Axxess, a weekly class program for 6-12th graders, and served as a past president of THEO (Tri-Cities Home Education Organization).

I have taught Writing and Literature classes to homeschool students for about 20 years, focusing on middle and high schoolers.

Currently offering these classes out of my home, I teach a rotation of American Literature, British Literature, and World Literature, as well as classes from The Institute for Excellence in Writing curriculum.

Lee has recently joined me in teaching Literature classes. His experience includes 20 years as a college instructor of rhetoric and composition, as well as currently serving as a tutor at Axxess. He also provides private tutoring in a variety of subjects.
