WELCOME to Fourth Grade Reading! We are located in Room 321 at League City Middle School. As your child begins his/her first year in middle school, I am beginning my first full year of teaching my very own classroom! I have been with the Clear Creek School District for four years now as a substitute teacher and have already had the pleasure of meeting some of your children these past few years at League City Elementary. I graduated from Florida State University, with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 2007. While my degree is in English, Reading is my passion and I am currently obtaining my Masters in Exceptional Student Education with a focus on Reading Comprehension through the University of West Florida. I have been substitute teaching in various classrooms in our district for the past four years while studying to receive my teaching certification. I have had the opportunity to work with every principal in our district and most of the teachers over the past four years. I enjoy being in the school system and am excited to have a classroom of my own.
Along with teaching, I am a HUGE football fan (Go Noles!) and enjoy spending time shopping with my two daughters, eating out with my husband, and family movie nights on the weekend. I’m a big coffee lover and enjoy reading my book in the evening while swinging on our back porch. My free time consists of taking care of my family, seeing my friends, and visiting our relatives.
Your child’s education is most important to me. I believe that all children are entitled to a safe and secure environment where they can receive an education that best meets their needs and development. As your child’s progress is continually monitored and adjusted, organization and responsibility will be a major focus of each day. My behavior expectations are clearly stated and are consistently enforced with natural consequences and positive reinforcement. I encourage boys and girls to develop a mutual respect for each other, their parents, and teachers, as well as instilling a sense of responsibility, positive self worth, and pride in themselves and their work.
I look forward to meeting you and being your child’s Reading teacher this year! Please feel free to contact me about anything regarding your child at any time. My contact information is listed and I will always respond.
