Welcome to third grade at Logan Elementary School! My name is Emily Yost and I will be your son/daughter’s teacher this year. I am so excited about the opportunity to get to know you and your child, and I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year.
Here is just a little bit about me.
I grew up in Troy, Michigan and when I was 13, I moved to Wisconsin for two short years. After that, my family and I found ourselves back in our home state of Michigan. I graduated from Saline High School and continued my education at Eastern Michigan University with a major in reading and minor in science. I chose to major in reading because I have a passion for reading and writing and my desire is to teach my students how to advance their own skills and to have a love for reading as well.
This is my fourth year teaching third grade at Logan. This past summer I got married to a wonderful man named Brett and went from “Fairless” to “Yost”. We built a home in Brighton this summer where we reside with our 4-year-old yorkie named Noel. I have two older sisters, both whom are married. They are my very best friends. I love to scrapbook, cook, and hang out with my family in my spare time.
There are many qualities that I possess that I am confident will be a benefit to your child. I am a structured, neat, and organized teacher and extremely creative. I enjoy interacting with both children and adults and I love to make people feel comfortable being around me and in my classroom. And not to mention, I have a heart for children!
I'm looking forward to a great year!
