Well, we have made it through the first two weeks of school and September is marching by. We are learning and practicing ways to stay healthy amid the Corona virus. We frequently wash our hands, use hand sanitizer, and remember to wear our masks any time we are moving around. The class is getting into the morning routine and our days are starting smoothly! Fourth grade is a big year for learning organizational skills. The class is taking notes on various subjects and filing them in their binders under the appropriate subjects. Binders go home nightly, so if you have a chance, look through it to see what we have been working on in class. Spelling words are given out on Fridays and are glued in the agenda. Spelling tests are given the following Thursday. Tests are given back on Friday and students must do rewrites on any words missed. This might be homework over the weekend if your student does not finish them in class. In math, we are reviewing addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Nightly timed sheets are to be completed as part of the homework. We are finishing up our first unit in Language on how to recognize sentences and the different types of sentences. We have started the year studying plants in science and hopefully, your student will be bringing home something he or she grew soon. After science, we will begin history, Wow, we sure are busy!!!
