WEEK IN A PEEK
January 10-14
SPELLING: We will study words that have double consonants. The list and dictation test will be on Thursday, Jan. 13.
READING: We will read the story, “The Little Painter of Sabana Grande.” The vocabulary test will be on Wednesday, Jan. 12. The comprehension and skills test will be on Friday, Jan. 14. We will review the following skills next week: main idea, summarizing, context clues, and story elements (character, setting, plot).
LANGUAGE: We will have a quiz on Friday, Jan. 14. Review the following skills to help prepare for the quiz: comma and capitalization rules. We will also learn about comma rules when we write dates.
MATH: We will have a quiz on Tuesday, Jan. 11. Review the following skills to help prepare for the quiz: multiplication tables 0-6, greater than, less than, equal to, measurements (liquid, dry, time), and solving equations. We will also learn about the following skills: solving story problems, multiplying money, and measuring to the nearest centimeter.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will finish our study of chapter 3. The test will be on Wednesday, Jan. 19.
OTHER:
- The North America/United States map test will be on Friday, Jan. 21.
