Good day, 8th grade parents and students! It's always an awesome day in World History to 1500!
This is my first year teaching at Wilkerson Middle School. Last year I taught 7th and 8th grade Social Studies in Perry County Schools. I also served as an Artist-in-Residence in Birmingham City Schools and a Social Justice Instructor for Higher Academics Summer School prior to joining the Wilkerson Wildcat Staff.
Legendary activist Marcus Garvey once stated, "A person without knowledge of his/her history, origin, or culture is like a tree without roots." Not only will we learn our individual histories, we will learn where we fit in the whole scheme of the world and conjure ways we can illuminate our futures!
