I feel that it is very important for students to have many different sorts of evaluation and learning techniques. Each child learns differently and if they are having fun then they do not even realize that they are learning. I am always trying to come up with different activities that my students find fun but yet portrays their knowledge of the course content. Here are the main activities that we will do throughout the course of the term, each activity will require the students to apply the knowledge of the material that they learn and also their ability to communicate in French.
I am hoping that the students enjoy these activities.
Le folklore urbain- Throughout this section of the course we will be looking at folklore legends from different cultures and countries throughout the world. As an assignment, the students will create a brochure containing information about the urban legends and culture that they learn from this section. They will be working in groups of 2 for this project.
Studio Créateur- This section is all about art. The students will learn what characteristics each color represents and what lines and shapes represents according to personality. For this section each child will be required to bring a white shirt to class for this project. We will be designing shirts on paper first as a rough draft and then finally painting the shirts. The students will be using the knowledge that they learned from this section, when designing their shirts. Each line, each shape and each color has to represent something about them and their personality. Once the shirts are completed, then each student will be presenting them to the class.
Et maintenant, passons aux nouvelles- For this section, the students will be learning about.... So for their main project for this section they will be required to work in groups of 3 and design a short news cast. It has to contain at least 3 different themes. So it can be about sports, news and weather, or sports, .... We will be video taping these news cast and will watch them together as a class.
