What is Equitable Digital Access?
To bridge socioeconomic gaps and truly support digital learning for all students, an initiative must ensure sufficient bandwidth and connection speeds to allow learning and teaching to occur anytime, with limited interruptions resulting from infrastructure problems. But equitable access means more than simply providing devices and connectivity. It also means giving every student the opportunity to learn from teachers who understand how to use technology to both enhance learning and create quality learning experiences for students with special needs.
Why is Equitable Digital Access Important?
Scheduling devices at home or at school.
It is so important that each child gets an opportunity to have access to technology that is in the classroom and be able to use it. If you have 20 students in the
classroom and 10 iPads, then you can allow 10 students to use the iPads in the morning and switch with the other group of 10 students in the evening. Monday and
Tuesday group"A" would get the iPads in the morning . Group "B" would get them in the evening. Wednesday and Thursday Group "B" would get the iPads in
morning and Group "A" would use them in the afternoon. Most of the time Friday is weekly assessment in my classroom, after assessments the students would be
allowed to work in pairs on with an iPad.
