The beaches of Agadir

The main beach of the city of Agadir is a ten kilometer crescent moon covered with golden sand, bathed by the cool waters of the Atlantic. When arriving on vacation, it is advisable to take a few hours for a leisurely stroll from the city harbor with the yachts to the river that flows into the ocean.

Here the wind is still blowing, making waves. The tides add or subtract from the beach a wide band of 150 to 200 meters. The entrance is very shallow, but at low tide you will have to walk behind the depth.

Beach is free, but wicker umbrellas must be borrowed early in the morning. Money will be needed for the rental of deckchairs and to pay for refreshments in local cafes. Hotels separate small areas for their guests with lounge chairs and umbrellas. The rest of the beach is entirely at the disposal of tourists and locals. In fact, citizens love to come to the beach in the evening to sit by the sea with the whole family.

Beach activities are represented by different types of river transport, paragliding and surfing. There is a promenade along the beach, dotted with restaurants and cafes. Security is controlled by police patrols, personal belongings of hotel guests are guarded by security guards.

Taghazut beach is located a few kilometers from the city, near the village of the same name. There is no infrastructure, no local population. There is only sand, photogenic rocks, crystal clear waves and surfers. Sometimes Berbers come here who walk on camels.

Legzira is one of the most beautiful beaches on the entire Moroccan coast. It will take 120 kilometers to drive from Agadir, but it's worth it. There are still no hotels and infrastructure here, there are no crowds of tourists. The strong waves don't make it the best place to swim, but it's a photography and space lover's paradise. The clay arches that fill the coast make Legziru photogenic. The most fantastic moment is sunset, when the rays of the setting sun transform the coast into a semblance of a Martian landscape.
