1. Getting Your Sphere: Joanne’s Fabric, Walmart, & Michael’s have 8 and 6 inch Styrofoam spheres.

1. Finding Your Scale Calculations 10 points: Complete worksheet for both 8 and  6 inch sphere. The ‘X’ for each layer represents the thickness of each layer, not its radii. If you are working with a different size model, please see me to get an adjusted scale worksheet.  Everyone does this!

1. Painting Layers and Labeling 10 points: Each layer of the Earth should be:

-  painted, labeled with the name of the layer, and

- indicate its size in centimeters. The size on your model should be the same size you found in your calculations on the math page.

- Paint outside to look something like the Earth (Green land/blue water)

1. Create a method for supporting model 10 points: Let your creativity reign. Somewhere on your stand should be a title, your group members, and table including the layers of the earth, their actual size, and their size on your model.
