Capítulo 1B      50-71

T: Talk about school schedules and subjects, discuss what students do during the day, ask and tell who is doing an action, and compare students’ school with that of a student in a Spanish-speaking country. S: subject pronouns, comparison más … que, and the present tense of –ar verbs.

Capítulo 2A      74-95 

T: Describe a classroom, indicate where things are located, talk about more than one object or person, and understand cultural perspectives on school. S: the verb estar and the plurals of nouns and articles.

Capítulo 2B      100-121

T: Talk about foods and beverages for breakfast and lunch, talk about likes and dislikes, express how often something is done, and understand cultural perspectives on meals. S: present tense of –er and –ir  verbs and me gustan / me encantan phrases. Plug in: the explanation for the formation of the tú affirmatives habla, lee, escribe, pon and haz  from Chapter 6B as non-tested items.

T: Talk about activities outside of school, extend, accept, and decline invitations, tell when an event happens, understand the cultural perspectives on after-school activities. S: ir + a + infinitive and the verb jugar

T: Describe families, talk abut celebrations and parties, ask and tell ages, express possession and understand cultural perspectives on family and celebrations. S: the verb tener and possessive adjectives.

Capítulo 5A      222-245

T: Talk about family celebrations, describe family members and friends, ask politely to have something brought to you, order a meal in a restaurant, and understand cultural perspectives on family celebrations. S: the verb venire and ser vs. estar.

Capítulo 5B      248-269

T: Talk about rooms and items in the house and make comparisons. S: the comparatives menos …que, mejor, peor, menor, mayor, superlative and stem-changing verbs poder and dormir. Plug in: mention but don’t test e: ie and e:i stem-changing verbs such as piensa, quiere, prefiere  and  pide that are in Chapter 7A.
