Evidence of Catering for a Variety of Learning Needs
I completed twenty five hours of volunteer work at Tallwood School, a K-12 NSW DET Special needs school. I worked in the early intervention class; with three students with varying degrees of autism, one student with cerebral dystrophy and one student with fragile X syndrome. Of these students only one could communicate verbally which meant other methods of instruction and communication had to be developed. I made use of visual pictures and cards, and hand signals to develop a positive rapport with students.
