"Amelia's Flying Lesson" - Intervention text pp. 38 - 45 (tested)

Spelling

Unit 4 test (long e sound words)

breeze   speed   between   chief   brief   piece   repeat   peach   lead   reach

Challenge word:  season

* We will also spell Unit 5 words (long i sound- iCe, y, igh, ey, uy)

Language Arts

Unit l skill review/test:  Sentences, Kinds of Sentences, Identifying the Subject and Predicate of a Sentence, Combining Sentences, Identifying Run-on Sentences

Math

Students will learn various ways to solve word problems by a multi-step process.

Writing

Students will do various forms of writing in reading (answering questions appropriately, using semantic "webs", sentence and paragraph writing in language arts, writing to explain in mathematics,  creative writing (acrostics), and journal writing daily.

 

5th Grade Class

Reading

Vocabulary and comprehension test - "Lessons from Barbara Jordan"

Students will identify and correctly write run-on sentences/paragraphs.  We will also review Unit l concepts:  Sentences, Kinds of Sentences, Identifying Subjects and Predicates, Combining Sentences, Correcting Run-on Sentences/Paragraphs

Math

Estimate sums (addition) and differences (subtraction)

Writing

Students will do various forms of writing in reading (answering questions appropriately),  using semantic "webs", sentence and paragraph writing in language arts, writing to explain in mathematics, creative writing (acrostics, for example), and journal writing daily.
