Bienvenue à la classe de Mme Schurman

Bienvenue à 8/9 Schurman!

Bonjour et bienvenue!

I'm happy to announce that our class website will be now up and running! Please check here frequently for updates on our class as well as homework assignments!

I will try my best to keep the homework updated daily, however it is my expectation that students are using their agendas everyday. I will continue to monitor their agendas, but students must take an active role in their learning and be responsible for recording their homework each day. The purpose of this website is to facilitate communuication between home and school!

The 2012/2013 school year is off to a great start and I'm looking foward to a very successful year :)

March Highlights!

Wow! How time flies! March has been a very eventful month. And can you believe there are only 55 and a half school days left!

A few important things to note:

-Congratulations to Kyle Jordan who advanced to the top 8 at the National Canspell 2012!

-Berwick and District School play "Murder in the Air" is tonight in the gym, admission is a free will donation! Class participants are: Zachary Walsh, Logan Menzies, Madison Perry, Brooke Godsland, Connor Clark, Jessica Perry, Carley Garvock, Joseph Ciarrocco, Keefe Reeves and Averee Kinsman.

-Early dismissal tomorrow (March 30th) at 11:45.

-Students have been noticing a slight (or more then slight) increase in homework over the past few weeks. It is term 3 and we are getting down to the wire. I have high expectations for all of my students and believe that creating good work habits and study skills are essential to their success! Please encourage them to check the homework board and this website everyday and put forth their best effort from now until the end of the school year!

C'est décembre!

I would like to thank all parents who came yesterday for parent-teacher sessions. I greatly appreciate all feedback and comments. For all parents/guardians who were unable to attend, I am available at school to contact by phone or by email, if you have any questions for me! As I have mentionned to most parents yesterday, I am offering extra help sessions for math on the following days: Day 3 (9e année) from 12:45-1:10 and Day 6 (8e année) from 12:45-1:10. Students must sign up prior to the day of their extra help session. Also, I have put some neat websites links below that are great tools for extra math practice at home!

I apoligize for the lack of current information over the past few weeks. The website is now up to date with calendar events and homework assignments.

I will be sending home a notice in regards to the amount of French being spoken in the classroom. If you could read over the notice and return it signed as soon as possible that would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a great start to the year. The kids are very welcoming and friendly. As I am now settled into the school routines and this position, I will be communicating more frequently through this website and emails.

If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions please contact me at the school (538-4720) or at

I look forward to working with you and your children this year. Have a great 2011-2012 year!
