Our Classroom Website

Hi Class!

Welcome to Fourth Grade.

My name is Shavon Holder. I was born in the country called Guyana. I started my teaching career in 2009 after completing The Teachers' Training College. I have taught mostly First Grade. I then relocated to the USA and I decided to continue in the teaching profession whilst on my jobsearch. So I took the necessary steps to make that possible.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that a classroom should be a place where a child must feel comfortable and they would want to come to everyday. I try my best to work with my students to the best of my ability. This is to ensure that when they leave my class they must have learn something they can take with them to the next level. I manage the space I am given to provide the best environment for my students and all the materials I can access for them.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”
Nelson Mandela

Behavioral Expectations

It is expected that each students follow the procedures and rules of the class. They should respect themselves and others and also the classroom environment.
