About Ms. Roberts . . .
Ms. Roberts began teaching at King George High School in 2007. She holds a Commonwealth of Virginia Collegiate Professional License with dual certification in:
- Music: Instrumental PreK-12
- Music: Vocal/Choral PreK-12
Ms. Roberts is the Choral Director at KGHS and directs four vocal ensembles:
- Mixed Chorus
- Women’s Chorus
- Select Chorus
- Show Choir
Ms. Roberts also currently teaches instrumental classes at KGHS:
- Introduction to Guitar
- Piano Class I
- Piano Class II
Ms. Roberts has previously taught at KGHS:
- AP Music Theory
- Music Appreciation
Ms. Roberts has been continually involved in ensemble and choral singing throughout her life, performing with many college, community, and barbershop choruses, as well as in a cappella groups. While in school, she played alto saxophone, clarinet, flute, guitar and piano and was active in college, community and jazz bands.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Mary Washington College (now University of Mary Washington).
She is a member of music education organizations:
- NAfME (National Association for Music Education)
- VMEA (Virginia Music Educator's Association)
- ACDA (American Choral Director’s Association)
- VCDA (Virginia Choral Director's Association)
Prior to teaching public school Ms. Roberts was a certified Yamaha Music School Instructor, and also taught music privately.
