About Mrs. Hong...

Well here we go! Drum roll please... and on to year two at Roosevelt! I am so excited to have joined the Roosevelt team last year. Last year, I taught the 6th grade self-contained classroom. I enjoyed working on a strong 6th grade team alongside Mr. Chris Holm and Mrs. Kathryn Kao, but I am extremely excited to join Ms. Jacqueline Le on the 7th grade team this year.

My teaching experiences travel from Southern California, where I was born and raised. I attended California State University, Fullerton, known for their impecable education program. I student taught in both Anahiem, and Irvine working in a 1st/2nd grade combo class as well as 5th grade. I worked full time for two years in 4th grade before migrating to the bay area with my husband James. Since our move in July 2017, I have made this place my home. Roosevelt has been a fabulous fit for me professionally, and I cannot imagine teaching anywhere else. Inspired by gifted education, rigor, and depth of knoweldge, this Project-Based Learning (PBL) school fit like a glove for me and I could not be more proud to call Roosevelt my home!

As we begin the 2018-2019 school year, I am so excited to be moving into 7th grade ELA/Social Studies. I am also extremely excited to be spearheading the return of a Roosevely Yearbook, additionally, coordinating the Yearbook Production elective as well.
