As we finish up the school year, all grades will be asked to participate in Culture Day. Throughout the year, we have learned about the important people and civilizations who have shaped our present day world. The Culture Day Project will give students an opportunity to learn more about a country or ancient civilization that sparks their interest. Throughout this project, students will be making connections between ancient and new cultures, relate these cultures to a country or civilization of their choice and see the effects these cultures have on today's world. After the students research their country or ancient civilization, they will be asked to create a tri-fold poster. These pusters will be due on Thursday, May 15, 2014. The students will present their projects on Friday May 16, 2014 starting around 12:45pm. Parents, peers, and other students will be observing their Culture Day projects throughout the day. The morning will be filled with various Culture Day activities in reading, language arts, and math. Please check back throughout the quarter to check up on due dates, requirements, and progress.
