About Me

Dear Families,

Welcome back!!  My name is Patricia Koehler and I will be your child’s teacher this year.  I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you and your child into the beginning of an exciting school year.  I believe that this will be a positive and rewarding learning experience and I look forward to working with your child.

My first eighteen years of teaching were at Baker Elementary and I am very excited to start my 9th year here at Johnson Elementary.  My family lives in Linden.  I have two wonderful children, Madeline is seventeen and Zach is thirteen and full of energy.  In my spare time I love to read, jog, play board games with my children and attend many of Maddie and Zach’s travel sport games around the state as well as Maddie’s Cross Country and Track meets for the Linden High School team (Go Linden Eagles!!).  I also spent a lot of time going to Zach’s travel baseball games.  This summer we spent a lot of time up north and also did a lot of bike riding and swimming!!!!!!

Teaching is more to me than just a job.  It is a commitment I take very seriously.  I want your child to be happy in my class this year.  I love working with children and feel fortunate to be working in a profession that means so much to me.  My mission as a teacher is to touch each child emotionally, academically, and socially in an effective and safe learning environment.  My students will experience respect, security, acceptance, success and encouragement to express ideas and opinions in my classroom.  My goal is to have each child reach their highest learning potential and apply this educational knowledge to their continuous desire in lifelong learning.

We will start the first week doing some “All about Me” writing activities.  This will help the students get back into the swing of things after a long summer.  It will also help the students to become more comfortable with each other.  We will also be reading some fun chapter books as a class and doing some fun activities with these books.

There are a few dates that will be coming up soon.  I will be giving you those dates soon.  The Johnson’s Curriculum Night will also be coming up some time in September. This special night will be a nice opportunity to come into the classroom, meet me, get important information about the school year and have fun!!!!

Each week we will also have a V.I.P or Star Student.  When it is your child’s turn I will send an envelope home with a note explaining what they need.  This week I will be the Star Student.  I will also be sending home a copy of our Special’s Schedule and my web page information.

I look forward to a wonderful year.  It will be an amazing year with lot of growth.  Please feel free to call me or send me an email if you have any questions.  I check my email every day so that is the best way to contact me.  If you can donate any sanitizing wipes, pencils, glue sticks or a box of tissue it would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Patricia Koehler
