Friday Morning Work Group
Each Friday morning we have several parents and grandparents who come together to do things to help the teachers. Things the group has done include cutting things out, sharpening pencils, tearing out workbook pages, making copies, putting books together, etc. It's a great time to help the teachers and get to know some other parents or grandparents. The group meets each Friday from 10:30 - 12:30. Mark you calendar and plan to come in and help out. The group meets in the office~ hope to see you there!
You may have read or heard in the news about a pregnant woman who was abducted and killed and her unborn fetus was cut from her body and also died. This is a terrible crime that is hard to even imagine. Unfortunately, the husband and her three other children must now plan her funeral and try to figure out how to go on without her. The four year old daughter of the late woman and her husband is a student at St. Martini Lutheran School, one of our LUMIN schools. According to principal Chuck Ashe, the family is struggling with money and is not sure how they will even pay the rent. This is where we, as a Christian School Community, can come together to assist the family. We will have "Dollar Jean Days" on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (October 17th, 18th, and 19th) with all of the proceeds going to assist this family in their time of need. Students who bring in a dollar each day can wear blue jeans instead of their uniform pants. Then, on Thursday, October 20th students who pay $2.00 can be out of dress code completely! The way I see it, we can have a little fun and still give generously to a family that truly needs our support. It's a win-win! I would like to set a goal of $1000 for the family from the Northwest Family!! Let's do it!!
As always, if you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call the school office at (414)463-4040.
