Mrs. Day's Home Page

I have created this website to help you and your child keep up to date on important information that is going on in the classroom through out the school year.

The 2011/2012 school year promises to be an exciting and productive one. I want your child to be happy and successful in their 6th grade class and believe that you play a key role. That role is to continually show interest in and support for your child. The child who knows that his or her family is interested in and supports the school program will almost always have fewer problems in school and will enjoy greater success. I am eager to meet you, and I know  you will join me in setting high academic and behavioral expectations for the coming year.

I believe in fair and consistent discipline that encourages students to be responsible for themselves. I  try to create a safe classroom environment where courtesy and kindness prevails and where there is respect for differences in other people, customs and cultures.

Please share with me any information regarding his or her special needs that will help us better serve your family. I believe that communication among parents, students and teachers is critical in assuring student success.  We are a team working toward the common goal of your child's educational success.

I feel that teaching is my most rewarding job ever, and am grateful for the experiences that brought me here.  I have  taught sixth grade for 4 years and I'm excited to prepare Tierra Bonita students for middle school.
I have provided  links below and even though  one is a link to an AK webpage, the information regarding parent tips is applicable to CA.
