Helping you child read

I often get asked by parents "what is the best way to help my child learn to read?"  My response is always:  practice, practice, practice!  Each night 10-15 minutes should be devoted to reading with your child or listening to them read.  To help your child's comprehension skills, ask your child questions.  Questions can be asked before you even begin reading the story.  Ask them questions about the title, pictures, and what they think might happen.
