Barron's Base of Operations

UPDATE: March 27-April 1

WOW!  Spring break has come and gone and we are on the final 9 weeks of school.  I've been pretty good keeping up with the web pages for the class and hope to maintain that through the next 9 weeks.

Freshmen classes are covering poetry, Romeo and Juliet, and writing for the last 9 weeks.  Meanwhile, seniors will be covering dystopian novels and satire.

Email if you have questions.

Feb. 7, 2011 - Monday

Students and Parents,

January was not a good month for Ms. Barron's educator pages.  Not to fear, I am back on track for February.  Basically, for the last two weeks of January, we covered our normal vocabulary activities.  Our main focus included writing a detailed essay demonstrating strong writing skills.  In addition, students edited and revised their work while learning to improve sentence structure.

In February, we will continue to focus on writing skills and work toward the CSAP assessment which starts in early March.

Go to the appropriate link to learn about daily class lessons.

January 7, 2011 - Second semester (update)

Hello Parents and Students,

Welcome all to the Spring semester.  This first week remained fairly calm in English classes for both freshman and senior students.

I will again remind everyone that the website is available to review daily class assignments.  My goal continues to be to update the site within 24 hours.

Feel free to email me directly via the school website at

Thanks for your time and I hope this site is helpful.

Nov. 2, 2010 (update)

Hello Parents and Students,

The site seems to be working well to keep everyone informed.  I am trying to update every 24 hours.  Sometimes, it may take 48 hours, but mostly I am keeping it updated.  Just a reminder to students, the board in the classroom is always an option to retrieve assigment lists as well.

A reminder, if freshmen students didn't turn in their short stories, they were assigned lunch detention with me until the story was turned in.  Plus, we are finishing up our short story unit and looking to take a test somewhere around Nov. 10 give or take a day.

Students are always welcome to come in for extra help before school, after school or during lunch.

Have a great November!

Ms. Barron

Oct. 4, 2010 -(update)

Dear Students and Parents,

This site seems to be working nicely.  Be sure to click on the green box at the top of the page representing your class.  Then, you will switch to your class's page. I seem to be keeping up most days within 24 or 36 hours of the class.  I don't know yet how to upload or attach documents but I will continue to work on that.

Thanks for checking in.

Sept. 10, 2010 - ( update)

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to my new website.  Please have patience with me as I learn and create a new system to keep everyone informed of classroom activities.

Hopefully, this site will serve as a fantastic place to check for assignments or make-up work.  At the top of the page, please note the specific pages for specific courses.

As always, if you have questions, concerns or just want to say, "Hi," please email me at the school website. = Woodland Park School District website = Ms. Laura-Lee Barron's school email.
