Mrs. Henderson's Leaping Learners

Hello, and welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!

I am so excited to get off to a fresh start with you and your second grader.  My name is Mrs. Henderson, and I will be your child's second grade teacher this year.  This will be my fifth year teaching the second grade with The Westside Community School of the Arts.  I believe that children learn best when associating learning with enjoyment.  I like to incorporate music, singing, rhymes, peer work, and creative thought with my teaching.

In second grade, we like to have FUN while we learn!

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Koury for eight years.  We have two amazing children: Joey, who is three, and Natalie, who is four months old.  We are VERY family oriented, and love to spend our free time with both family and friends.  I graduated from Ashland University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with a licensure in Pre K-3. I also attained my Reading Endorsement prior to graduating.  I substitute taught in many neighboring communities before I was hired at WCSA. is so important that both teacher and parent work together to ensure scholastic success.  We must work as a team to show our second graders that we value them and their education!
