I am so excited to have all of you in my classroom this year! It is going to be an exciting year full of learning. We will be learning about the exciting things that happened throughout British history during the Renaissance period, the Reformation, the Age of Enlightenment, and all of the monarchs that were part of these exciting times!
I will be updating homework on this home page on a weekly basis so please see below for what we are working on and what is coming up for them in the weeks to come!
Week of November 2, 2020:
Read chapters 2 & 3. Complete a detailed outline for both chapters highlighting what you felt was most important. This will be a graded assignment so please put in your best effort.
Week of November 9, 2020:
Quiz on chapters 2 & 3. We will be reviewing these in class and I will be sending home a study guide for you to work off of as well. Please come to me with any questions you may have before the quiz on Friday.
Week of November 16, 2020:
We will be moving on to our next section and begin studying the Age of Enlightenment. Please read chapter 4 and complete study handouts that were given in class. These will be beneficial to have as we move through the section.
We finished our assignments and section on Renaissance Period during the week of Halloween and the students participated in a reenactment of a Shakespeare play of Elizabeth I. They all participated and had fun with the recreation.
During the week of October October 19, the students had a midterm exam. This was a difficult exam and I am proud of each and everyone of them. They will have till November 2 to make corrections to increase their overall grade. I have sent home a corrections worksheet to those who have asked for one which should aid in their exam corrections.
Please clap your hands for this class as they have the highest overall grades on the midterm exam!
The weekly quizzes which have been taking place since the second week of the term have been going well and the students have worked hard in class to understand what is expected of them on the quizzes. Thank you to the students for all of their hard work!
Outline required readings with family tree to help keep track of who the important people are within the suggested learning sections. This will aid the students in major players and when they were relevant within history.
Review www.britannica.com for British history of the time period.
There are several movie and televison programs which cover this time period, specifically on PBS which can aid in your studies. If you would like further information, please ask and I will give you the information.
