Heat Transfer

Heat is the movement of energy of motion of molecules in matter from an area of high energy (hotter areas) to an area of low energy (cooler areas).

Heat moves by one of three methods conduction, convection and radiation.

Conduction is the movement of heat by direct contact.

Convection is the movement of heat by currents that form in matter, liquids and gases.

Radiation is the movement of heat by waves.
