Parent Letter/Classroom guidelines

Dear Parents, Hello, and welcome to the 2010-2011 school year!  I look forward to teaching your child this year.  Communication is the key and together we can all make this a great year! Please note classroom rules correlate directly with the Tierra Antigua handbook.

  • Birthdays:Your child may bring treats on his/her birthday to pass out in the afternoon.  We are not allowed to have birthday parties, so please allow me to handle the passing out of the treats.  Please do not send birthday invitations unless you are inviting the entire class or all the girls or boys in class.  Please save invitations for children in other classes for after school.

  • Wednesday 8:50-12:30
  • Snacks:Students may bring healthy snacks daily.  Please do not bring in any snacks that stain fingers such as Doritos or snacks that require utensils.  Your child will be allowed to get their snack quietly and eat while I am teaching at any they may need to.  I will remind the class at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Water bottles with a tight closing cap are allowed at all times.  If your child brings a store bought plastic reusable water bottle, please make sure it is taken home nightly to be cleaned.  Any plastic bottles left over the weekend will be thrown away for safety purposes. 

I look forward to having a WONDERFUL and EXCITING year.  Please remember to make sure all students get enough rest and eat a heathly breakfast.  I ask you to please share your love of reading by listening and reading to your student.   My door is always open; I encourage any volunteers and will be relying on you throughout the year, make sure to sign in at the office first.
