ECE Internship is the final course in the ECE Pathway. Students must have taken Introduction to Early Childhood Education, Human Growth & Development, and Health Safety & Nutrition before taking Internship. Students usually are Juniors or Seniors when taking ECE Internship. This course is the culmination of all courses and allows students to apply knowledge learned in the previous courses. The students work with children ages 3 & 4. Students write lesson plans and implement them during class. Students prepare meals and snacks for the children. The ECE Pathway helps prepare students for careers working with children, or for furthering their education hopefully to become a teacher or for when they have children themselves. While in this class, students also learn about FCCLA (Families, Community, Career Leaders of America) and participate in activites promoting the organization and community.
