My name is Ms. Somero, and I've been working at Eastpointe Elementary School for about 5 years now. I'm originally from Detroit, MI. I moved here in 2007 with my family, and have lived here ever since. I look forward to going to work every day because not only am I going to teach many students all new information to use as they grow, but also I learn so much about them as well. I love getting to know my students, and their families, it helps me get to know my class in a very welcoming way.
Some of my favorite things to do when I am not at school are tending to my fitness dance class! I love dancing, and I love going to the gym, therefore my dance classes are a great mixture of the two! I help with leading the class every Monday and Wednesday nights. I also have 2 wonderful cats that keep me on my feet at home. They're energetic but also nice to snuggle up with when it's too hot outside!
I studied at St. Petersburg College for my Bachelor's Degree in k-12 Teaching, and my specialty is in a small group, educationally disabled, and gifted programs. I take pride in my career, mostly because it is the highlight of my work life, and it benefits me in many ways. Growing up I always wanted to be a teacher, starting since I was 3 years old! I always teach my students to keep their passions and take the, somewhere big!
