I like to teach students using something called the FISH philosophy. This gives student four simple rules to remember that encompass many things and teaches many lifeskills. This philosophy helps kids to relate to each other in a safe and positive way.
Be There- Be attentive, Be prepared with necessary materials, and arrive on time.
Make Their Day- Do something nice to help someone else have a good day. This can be as simple as saying hello and asking how someone is doing.
Choose your attitude- Come with a positive attitude, if you are in a bad mood maybe if you make someone's day it will brighten your day.
Play- We love to have fun in the classroom but you must be able to have fun safely, use the life skill of common sense and make wise choices.
