The purpose of this activity is to practise a sentence pattern “watashi / boku wa (name) desu. (I am (name))”
Students pick one famous people card and pretend they were that person. One student asks "onamae wa nan desu ka (What is your name?)" and another student answer"watashi / boku wa (famous person they got) desu (I am (famous person's name))."
The cards include many famous people, such as Harry potter, Kevin Rudd, and Colonel Sanders.
Students loved this activity and many students asked me “Can we play this again?” As they wanted to know what other classmates got, they tended to listen to what others say.
I did this activity with a small group of students. So it needs to be arranged to do in a big class.
