About Me

Hi y'all, my name is Maggie Boettcher and I am a first grade teacher at Seagrove Elementary School. I am blessed with this job and happy that I get to do what I want every single day. Parents-- since I'll be teaching and spending the year with your children here's a little bit about me!

Education

I grew up in Asheboro, North Carolina and attended Seagrove Elementary School as a child and absolutely loved it, I then attended Southwestern Randolph Middle School and transferred to Uwharrie Charter Academy. After high school, I went on to Mars Hill University where I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.

Hobbies/Interests

I love trying new things, I seek adventure with everything I do. I love rock climbing, doing mud runs and ropes courses, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. I love being outside and having fun with life. I play the cello and love all kinds of music. Fun fact: my major was music/art therapy when I first started college. I also love curling up inside and reading a good book or watcghing a good movie some days too. I hope to incorporate some of my hobbies into our classroom to interest my students!

Why I Became a Teacher

I loved Elementary School when I was growing up, I never had a teacher that I didn't like. Thinking of Elementary School always gives me good thoughts and memories. I want to be able to make a difference in people's lives, no matter if it's small or big. I beleive that what children are exposed to and develop when they are younger has a great impact on the rest of their lives. I want to show my students that learning can be fun, and that they can do anything if they set their mind to it.
