Dear Parents/Guardians
Hello my name is Matthew Jones, I am your childs high school resource teacher at Unity High School. I am in my second year of teaching, I graduated with a B.A. in special education from Benedictine University(2009). I am currently working on my M.A. to recieve my type 75 for adminstrative duties.
I am very excited about this year and hope you are too. I encourage you to take part in your child's life and ask them about their school day on a daily basis, as well as ask what they are learning and studying. I will provide as much support in the school setting but for success to be achieved support has to continue outside of school. If you have any questions about what we are studying or want to discuss your child's progress you can contact me before school(7:30am-8:00am) or after school (3:30pm-4:00pm) via phone at 630-454-1313. I feel this entire year no matter what we study and how we study the material we will have fun and find a variety of ways to learn the curriculum to fit your child's learning style. I think everything we learn will help with academic and social progress for your child. This progress is important to attain so your young adults will be successful in all aspects of life after there post-secondary education.
