Science of Reading
This means that there are deliberate ways to teach children how to read. The alphabetic principal is used to teach children phonological awareness. Students develop an othrographic mapping where words are readily available from explicit phonics practice, explicit vocabulary exposure and hearing others read to them aloud. Is is not easy for children to learn to read. It isn't natural, it is science.
