Math 8th Grade - Chapter Nine Graphing Project

8th Grade Graphing Project

Due: TBD

Collect data that is appropriate for each type of display (remember the purpose of each graph) and graph the data using an Internet site graphing tool, spreadsheet, or other graphing method.  Each graph will need a different set of data. List the data collected (via survey, statistics, or other data-gathering method) and supply the appropriate graph. Be sure to examine the grading rubric to fulfill all requirements.  This is a test grade.

> Collect and display data appropriate for a stem-and-leaf plot.

> Collect and display data appropriate for box-and-whisker plot. Calculate and display the mean, median, mode, and range.

> Collect and display data appropriate for a double-line graph. Calculate and display the mean, median, mode, and range.

> Collect and display data appropriate for a double-bar graph. Calculate and display the mean, median, mode, and range.

> Collect and display data appropriate for a circle graph. Calculate and display the mean, median, mode, and range.

> Collect and display data appropriate for a histogram. The mean, median, mode, and range do not need to be calculated.
