Hello everyone! My name is Marc Ochacher and I am one of the 6th grade science teachers here at Palm Pointe. I have been a teacher for the past 23 years and this will be my third year at Palm Pointe, and 11th in St. Lucie County. Over the past years I have had the priviledge to be a 3rd, 4th, 5th grade teacher and science resource teacher at the elementary level, also at the middle school level a math and science teacher.
I have enjoyed every level, but find myslef at home with 6th grade. I am happy to be back and am looking forward to a great year.
I was born in New York, but grew up in Ft. Lauderdale since I was 4 years old. I attended elementary and middle school in Plantation and went to Nove High School which is a research based school similar to Palm Pointe. I attended Nova Southeastern University where I received a Bachelors degree in Education, a Masters degree in TESOL, and an Educational Specialist degree in Reading.
I am all about the Florida sports teams. The Dolphins and Panthers (hockey) are the teams of choice. I enjoy playing soccer and hockey (miss it since moving to Port St. Lucie). When I get the opportunity I also like to fish and play golf.
My Teaching Philosophy
My beliefs on teaching is simple- Everyone Can. I believe that if someone is willing to do something or learn or grow then everyone can accomplish, everyone can succeed, everyone can grow. It is my philosophy that what students are exposed to and develop when they are in school can have an enormous impact on the rest of their lives and it is my mission to instill in my students the belief that they too can do anything they set their mind to, and with my help I hope to guide them along that path.
