Class Rules and Expectations

 

Required Materials

  • Composition Book for notes, various paperbacks, downloads, website access

Expectations for assigned work

  • Name, date, and period are placed in top right-hand corner of paper for homework and seatwork.
  • All titles are centered on the top line.
  • Specific instructions for special assignments must be followed.
  • Group work is to be available for all group members at all times via the use of Google classroom or a similar platform.
  • Groups are expected to complete and present assigned tasks regardless of member absences.
  • Monthly book reports are to follow the assigned genre for the month (September/October – biography, November/December – historical fiction, January/February – poetry collection, March/Apri – autobiography/memoir, May/June - science fiction or graphic novel)

Assignment Grades

  • Essays, visuals, quizzes, exams, and projects receive multiple grades.
  • Homework, seatwork, and extra credit receive a single grade.

Classroom Etiquette (Remote Learning)

  • Do log on daily at the assigned time for this class.
  • Do carefully read your Student Code of Conduct for Remote Learning.
  • Do have access to materials daily and turn in assigned work on due dates.
  • Do avoid the use of profanity and behavior disrespectful of young and older adults while online.
  • Do avoid cell phone and other distractions while logged into class.
  • Do your own class work and home work!

Bathroom With Remote Learning

  • Students are allowed bathroom/water privileges; however, try be in front of your device during whole class engaged activities: teacher talk time, presentations, discussions, note taking.

I will not hesitate to ask Ms. Smith if I am confused or need assistance.

I will treat Ms. Smith and the other members of my class respectfully.
