Diet and Nutrition Lesson
Objective: Students will create a healthy 3 day meal plan which incorporates all the necessary recommended servings.
Lesson: Students will chart and log their own meals for 3 days. The log will include all foods eaten during the day including serving size. Students will bring their 3 day log to class and compare their 3 day diet with their knowledge of the food pyramid (now the food plate). Students will then a write a one page summary of their diet sharing what areas were lacking in their diet, where they succeeded, and how they can improve their diet. Students will then create an improved meal plan for three days with all the proper servings for each food group.
