Classroom Song Lyrics

The Star Spangled Banner (our National Anthem)
based on a poem by Francis Scott Key, music by John Stafford Smith

O say can you see by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Walking In The Hall
by Kathleen Wiley

Well, we're walking. Yes, we're walking.
Like a panther or a lioness who's stalking.
We keep our bodies quiet in the hall.
To recess or to lunch, we are a quiet bunch,
And no one hears us coming at all.
'Cause we're walking. Yes, we're walking.
And nobody will ever hear us talking.
'Cause we're ever so quiet in the halls,
You never need to fear, 'cause us you'll never hear.
We're as quiet as a fly on a wall. Shhh!!

Partner Reading
by Kathleen Wiley

Partner reading, partner reading, you and me, you and me.
We can both read together, in all kinds of weather, quietly, silently.
We can both share a book, I can read, you can look.
Or, we'll both read alternately. But unison is my favorite one.
Come on, now, let's have some fun, and partner read, partner read.
Get a friend and a book, and go read in a cozy nook.
Partner read, partner read, partner read right now.

Lunch
by Kathleen Wiley

Lunch! Lunch! Lunch! We're a hungry bunch, But we're the best in school!
Off to the restroom, get quietly dressed, too, And watch us follow the rules!
Lunch! Lunch! Lunch! We're a hungry bunch, But watch us stay so cool.
We'll walk in line, we'll all stand so fine, 'Cause manners are the rule.
Lunch! Lunch! Lunch! We're a hungry bunch, So listen to us say:
"We'll munch and we'll crunch, we'll eat all our lunch,
And then it's time to go play!"

Clear Your Desk
by Kathleen Wiley

Clear your desk. Put all your things away.
Clear your desk. That's all there is today.
Clear your desk and listen to your teacher
So that (she'll/he'll) be sweeter.
Just clear your desk, 'cause it's the thing to do.
No more mess and so we're ready to listen now.

Chairs Up
by Kathleen Wiley

Chairs up! Clean up the room! Clean up the room today.
Chairs up! Clean up the room! There's nothing left for us to say.
We'll clean up our table because we are able
We'll clean up our area too.
Because we don't mind it we'll all get behind it
We're cleaning for me and for you.
I'll help you clean your space and then you'll help me clean mine.
We'll help others we know. We're helping all of the time.
We're working together in all kinds of weather
'Cause working together is fun!
You know we will hurry, you don't need to worry

And now all our cleaning is done!

Frere Jacques

Frere Jacques, Frere Jacques,
Dormez-vous? Dormez-vous?
Sonnez les matinnes, sonnez les matinnes
Din, dan don, din dan don!
