Announcements

Dear Parents,

Welcome back!

I look forward to meeting and working with all of you to make this year a successful one.

We need to work together to ensure your child’s success. As a fourth grade student, your child will have more responsibilities and in turn be more independent. He/she will be responsible for turning in classwork, homework folders, projects and assignments in on time. There are other opportunities for upper elementary students as well including cafeteria duties and morning news broadcast participation.

As for classwork and homework, it will be your child’s responsibility to make sure everything gets turned in on time. In my class we have homework folders that are distributed on Mondays and are to be turned in on Fridays. As we know, life gets hectic, so if your family has events or functions planned during the week you can plan accordingly.  If homework or projects are not completed on time they will receive a zero (U). If directions for an assignment are missing or if anything gets lost it is up to your child to check with a friend or see if I have an extra copy. I will not be able to make additional copies of the assignment.

Attached are copies of the Homework Policy, Discipline Policy, General Learner Outcomes and a Grading Table. Please review this information with your child. There is also a student information sheet at the back of this packet. Please sign the bottom portion of this letter, fill out the information sheet at the back of the packet and return them to me with your child tomorrow.

Thank you so much for your assistance and ongoing support. I am really looking forward to a fun and exciting year. If you need to contact me, please feel free to call me at: 808-662-3955x237 or email me at: fivetenjen@gmail.com and I will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also communicate with me in your child’s homework folder or write me a note. I also have a website, the URL is: http://mrsjenalexander.educatorpages.com where I will be posting announcements weekly, including a monthly newsletter and other fun information.

Thanks so much!

Mrs. Jen Alexander
