What did we do in class? (This section is fairly fluid--to ensure we get all the information covered, if we do not finish during one class, there will be a continuation the following class)

Thursday/Monday 4/9 & 4/13:  No assignment due today--Friday is a teacher work day.

Tuesday/Wednesday 4/14 & 4/15:  Watch the following video of President Kennedy's Inaugural Speech and answer the questions posted on Edmodo. (Due 4/14 at 9PM for Per 8, 4/15 at 9PM for Per 5)

Thursday/Friday 4/16 & 17: Watch Crash Course US History #40 and complete the template pages attached in Edmodo.  These templates can also be found on OneDrive but all items must be typed and submitted through Edmodo.  Directions:  Use the document "Lowd's Crash Course Video Template" to take detailed notes on the video, answer vocabulary and identifications required, including 3 vocabulary words you didn't know from the video, create 3 multiple-choice quiz questions that may be used on a quiz  (include 3 incorrect choices and the correct answer) and create 2 discussion questions.  Finally choose one question to fully answer in paragraph form using claim, evidence from the video, and reasoning (minimum 5 sentences).  (Due Thursday by 9pm for Period 8, Friday by 9pm for Period 5)

Monday/Tuesday 4/20 & 21: Kennedy's Presidency:  Identification and timeline (does not have to be creative--only fill in the significant events identifying them as you normally would--what are these events and why are they significant?)  The events that you must put in order are on Edmodo.  Next to each one after you have created the timeline please identify each event.

Wednesday/Thursday 4/22 & 23:  President Johnson's Great Society: Open/download the document titled "The Great Society Speech and Programs"  (posted to OneDrive (and on Edmodo in the assignment).  The first page is "The Great Society Speech, Lyndon B. Johnson". Read it and then answer the questions posted to Edmodo.  Next, look at the 2nd page titled "Major Great Society Programs".  Look at them then answer the 3 discussion questions posted to Edmodo. (Due 4/20 at 9pm)

Friday/Monday 4/24 & 27   Watch the following 5-minute video The Great Society and take notes (6 bullet points in the "Create" box will suffice).  Then answer the questions posted to Edmodo.  Next Read the Pro and con documents--answer the questions posted to the assignment on Edmodo.

Tuesday/Wednesday 4/28 & 29:  Utilize the assignments you've completed on Kennedy and Johnson to study for a quiz which will be given on Thursday/Friday.  Items you can use:  Crash Course #40, Kennedy's Inaugural Speech, Johnson's Great society speech and programs, pros and cons.  No work is due today.

Friday 5/1:  Quiz--Kennedy and Johnson's Presidencies.  This opens for both classes on Friday at the same time...9am - 9pm.  Once opened you have 35 minutes to complete it.  Some of the questions have excerpts to read that are attached to the questions.  

Monday/Tuesday 5/4 & 5:  Catch up day.  Please complete all assignments that you have not yet accomplished.  If something is unlocked, please let me know

Thursday 5/7  US History Zoom meeting 1:00PM for BOTH classes  MEETING LINK.  In this meeting, we will discuss Civil Rights of the 1960s and 70s and Vietnam.  Then, I will explain the work required for the Civil Rights Supreme Court Cases that I will assign.  You will receive the civil rights case that day--so please plan to attend.  Your Supreme Court Case assignment is due on May 15th by 9PM.

 

Monday/Tuesday 5/11 & 5/12:  Complete the guided reading questions for Topic 15--The Vietnam War and The changing Roles of Women.  Both the reading and the questions are attached to the assignment AND are in OneDrive.  DUE 5/11 (A) and 5/12 (B) at 9pm

Wednesday/Thursday 5/13 & 14:  Please work on and complete your supreme court case assignment (Friday Due 5/15 for both classes)

WEEK OF 5/18:  ALL ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE AND WILL LOCK ON 5/22 AT 9PM (NO EXCEPTIONS).  PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU COMPLETE ALL MAKE-UP WORK

PLEASE CHECK DUE DATES FOR ALL ASSIGNMENTS.  EVERY ASSIGNMENT WILL LOCK ON 5/22 AND WILL NOT BE REOPENED.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
