Montly Poems

Each month, starting in September, the students will have a focus poem.  We will use these poems in our classroom for various activites.  As part of your student's homework during the month, your student needs to do two things with the poem.  First, your student needs to write the entire poem in cursive by the date given to them.  Second, your students needs to memorize the poem.  Each student will be required to recite the poem in front of the class at the end of the month.

September due dates:  Poem in cursive - September 22; Poem Recitations - September 25 - 29.

September Poem

How Much, How Many

by Shel Silverstein

How many slams in an old screen door?

Depends on how loud you shut it.

How many slices in a bread?

Depends on how you cut it.

How much good inside a day?

Depends on how good you live 'em.

How much love inside a friend?

Depends on how much you give them.
