It is my mission as a teacher to help students on their paths to become thinking, reasoning, responsible, and productive members of our society. To accomplish that, I make it part of my mission to provide an engaging, meaningful, and cooperative learning environment that is also culturally sensitive. Student must be sensitive to and able to work with others. I want to inspire students to want to read good literature, read interesting non-fiction articles, appreciate amazing art and architecture that so many cultures contribute to our world, experience the many different ways music can touch their souls. I want to promote learning as a way of life, not just something to get through. Because outside influences affect what goes on in my classroom, my mission includes reaching out to other educators, administrators, parents, and the community to promote peaceful interaction and interest in the importance of education for all children.
