Creation Days 1-4 (Review) and Days 5-7

Week 1 Bible Objective: The students will be able to begin to trust God's perfect plan for the creation of our world.

Memory Verse: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.  Genesis 1:1 (Memory Verse Test will be Friday, September 4th).

Biblical Integration: Students will understand that they are created by God. They are special to him and he has a plan for their lives.

Essential Question:  Why did God make the world?

-Use a Children's Bible and review Days 1-4 of Creation.  Emphasize how each thing God made was necessary for everything else he made later on.

-Talk about Day 5 when God made the birds and the fish.  Did these animals have what they needed?  What do birds/fish need to live.  God all ready had a perfect plan for birds and fish.  Draw a picture based on an artist's work for Day 5 of creation.

-On Day 6, God made animals and people.  Did animals and people have everything they needed to live.  What do animals and people need?  Draw a picture based on an artist's work for Day 6 of creation.

-On Day 7, God rested.  Ask them why God needed to rest?  God wanted to show people they needed a day to rest during the week.  He knows our bodies the best and knows what we need.  Draw a picture of rest based on an artist's work of Day 7.

-Color and put together the Story of Creation Wheel (page 1 and page 2) and help the children turn it and be able to tell someone else the story of creation.
