Classroom Rules

The rules of the classroom were created by the students with direction from me (of course, I had my own ideas that needed to be included!)  We brainstormed and came up with this list.  We even created a list of consequences, but hopefully we won't have to use them. (you'd be amazed at how hard kids can be on each other)
  • Don't talk while the teacher, or another student, is talking.
  • Pay attention to what the teacher, or another student, is saying.
  • Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
  • No gum chewing.
  • Water is allowed in class, but no other liquids.
  • No eating during class.
  • No bullying.
  • Don't run in the hallway.
  • Don't make fun of another student's questions or comments.

Consequences:

  • First Offense:   A warning from the teacher
  • Second Offense:   Lose half of recess
  • Third Offense:   Lose recess and a note sent home to parents
  • Fourth Offense:   Conference with student and principal
  • Fifth Offense:   Conference with student, teacher and parents
